The brightness of this moon made shooting directly at it very difficult and it turns out looking like the sun in the photograph. in order to catch the detail of the full moon, had to narrow the aperture and decrease the shutter speed, which made everything else in the photo (including Mars) black.

Howling at the Moon

Your upper photograph is a brilliant capture of a bright moonlit sky. A sense of sheer momentum is propelled by the high wispy clouds that almost seem to catch and cling onto the bright orb, an effect heightened by vapor trails crisscrossing perfectly to define the composition. Your description is correct that one could mistake such a dazzling moon for the sun.
ReplyDeletePoetically, I cannot help but observe that the wolfish hunting moon of Artemis is escorted by warrior Mars on this particular howling night.
The lower photograph is a technically accomplished portrait of the Moon dressed in golden splendor.
