San Francisco

A few standard tourist shots until I get a chance to load up some more! It's cold and foggy/rainy today, plus we were running around a lot today, so not as many pictures. Tomorrow promises to be a touristy (and rainy) day, it'll be fun to see what I can shoot pictures of.

Golden Gate Bridge taken from Vista Point north of the Bridge.
No lights on the bridge. boo.
But it made for a more dramatic view of the bridge architecture.

Looking at the Bay Bridge and the downtown S.F. skyline.

  1. AWESOME - I totally want to go back - even if it means another broken foot!
(Don't go to Coit Tower on your touristy day!)

  2. Your powerful upper night view of the Golden Gate Bridge convincingly captures the structural magnificence of this renowned structure. Both lighted towers thrust upward against the darkness with the dynamism of sheer strength supplemented by delicate beads of light decorating the suspensions, while the spans sparkle with supporting lamps and vehicular headlights. The twin nature of the bridge is further mirrored by the dual brightest lights on the far shore. The whole composition is harmonized by the back-lighted dark hills giving linear grace to contrast the verticality of the bridge towers.

I am absolutely amazed how your stunning nocturnal photograph manages to capture such an entirely fresh and visually inspiring image of this world-renowned landmark, which is reputedly one of the most photographed objects in the world. Your picture thus underscores the fact that a gifted photographer can always add novel quality to a given subject, no matter how many other photos exist of the same object.
